VSControl is the management interface software that is a web based application for the Xen Hypervisor. VS Control has been developed using the features of python programming language that has been created using the web framework of django. It has a number of newly developed features including two separate panels of Admin panel and client panel. The admin panel utilizes a virtual private server or the VPS as it is commonly termed that can create resources using the custom plan or the predefined plan format. VS Control has been designed and developed such that it can configure to the Linux OS. It can be easily installed using the OS of Linux.
VS Control can also resize most of the resource manage by either extending or even reducing the disk or RAM space that has been assigned to a particular VPS along with upgrading or downgrading the various plans that are assigned for the vps including bandwidth, disk or even RAM. It has special features in its node health that can list all of the PCI devices and network interfaces that has been assigned to each of the bandwidth along with providing various details of the server.
VS Control also is designed to provide a full detail of the hardware part including the details of the number of processors that is used and their IDE devices and SCSI devices. It displays the complete status of the memory used and free along with the total memory of the system. It gives the complete status of the mounted files including the used, free and total number of files. It also lists the total volume of groups along with its other details like the total used and free groups. It also lists the total physical status of the physical memory including the used and free bytes.
The system also does provide a complete back up facility along with incremental backup facilities and copies every detail of the data since the last backups. Most of the features of the software can be performed by a single click of the button including the restoring and deleting of full data.
The client panel lists full details of the VPS along with traffic logs and assigned bandwidth details. The traffic logs can be collected on the daily as well as monthly basis by the user along with generating most of the mail alerts regarding contacting the sales officer if his VPS has consumed more than 90% of his allowed bandwidth. The user has the ability of assigning any services for monitoring and VS Control can easily be reinstalled by the user just by single click of the button. In any case if the server is not working or even down then the user is generally sent an alert for taking immediate action of the situation.
Additionally VSControl provides built-in IP Management that can be used during VPS creation and assigning additional IPs to exiting VPS. And to make VSControl available for reselling and branding it supports themes that can be fully customized to hosting company's website design. |
